About Attachments

Attachments improve productivity

Equipment Depot offers the a complete line of forklift attachments to increase your efficiency and keep your lift truck productive shift after shift. Special materials call for special attachments. Our attachments include side shifters, fork positioners, hydraulic clamps and slip sheet attachments. OSHA requires that any attachment installed on your forklift must be approved by the original lift truck manufacturer. In addition, adding attachments can change the capacity rating of your forklift requiring an updated capacity plate for your unit.

Common attachments include:

Sideshifter This is the most common attachment used on lift trucks. The sideshifter allows the lift truck operator to adjust the fork carriage to slide either left or right to allow more accurate placement of the load on a rack or to load on a truck.

Fork positioner Fork positioners allow lift truck operators to move the forks quickly and accurately to fit different pallet sizes without leaving their seats.Used primarily in high volume operations where there is a great variety of pallet and crate sizes handled.

Fork Extensions Fork extensions slide over the existing forks on the truck to allow you to pick up longer loads.

Paper Roll Clamp Designed specifically for the handling of large paper rolls, the paper roll clamp clamps around the roll and also allows for a full 360 degree rotation.

Carton Clamp Operates similar to the paper roll clamp except the clamping surface is flat rather than circular. Designed for the warehousing, beverage, appliance and electronics industries, carton clamps allow palletless handling, and save money on pallet purchasing, maintenance, shipping and storage. Also improve warehouse space utilization.

Push Pulls Push pulls or slip sheet attachments are used where slip sheets (a sheet of cardboard, paperboard, or plastic) are used rather than pallets. The slip sheet attachments has a push/pull mechanism that clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls the load onto a thin platform and then pushes the load off of the platform when the truck reaches the destination. Products typically handled with a push/pull include bagged products such as seed, agricultural products and cement; cased food, electronics, cosmetics and bottled beverages

Drum Handlers There are a lot of different designs for attachments used to handle 55 gallon drums. Some are smaller versions of a paper roll clamp while others may clamp on to the upper rim of the drum or the lower rings. Some drum handlers are capable of picking up multiple drums at the same time.

Poles A pole attachment is a specialized rod used for picking up rolls of materials such as carpet rolls, wire and cable spools, and rolled steel, by inserting the rod or pole into the center of the spool.

Height Selector Choosing a height selector option allows you to preset certain fork heights to correspond with the rack levels in your facility. This option is most commonly used on reach trucks working at heights above 20 feet.

Tilt control Tilt control allows you to preset fork tilt angles.

While Equipment Depot can select many suppliers for attachments, our preferred suppliers are world class companies: Bolzoni – Auramo and Cascade.
