A wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Nissan Forklift offers lift trucks with the same meticulous quality standards and manufacturing principles incorporated into their operations.
To meet the needs of its customers searching for electric forklifts as their material handling solution Nissan Forklift added Swedish warehouse manufacturer Atlet AB to its family. With a variety of forklift brands to choose from, how do you decide? To gain a greater understanding of your total ownership costs, several factors should be considered. Among them – fuel consumption, productivity, reliability of design and manufacture, just to name a few. These are some of the advantages available to you by owning a Nissan Forklift.
Advanced Engine Technologies
Nissan knows that all engines are not alike and so do you. Benefiting from the advantages of their vast automotive experience brings, Nissan Forklift has applied many of these same proven technologies to the industrial engines powering their lift trucks. Incorporating electronic fuel injection, Nissan engines not only deliver emission levels low below EPA requirements, but offer significantly reduced fuel consumption and industry leading performance.
Nissan Forklift Fuel Savings
In a recent study performed by the Minnesota Center for Automotive Research (MnCAR), Nissan Forklift’s Platinum II® Series outperformed leading brands in both fuel savings and productivity.
Using a test pattern designed to simulate a typical warehouse operating cycle, results showed the Platinum II® delivered fuel savings of 8% to nearly 11% versus two leading competitors. For a fleet of 10 trucks, that means an average savings of nearly $5,000.
Over the course of a typical five-year lease that equates to nearly $25,000 in savings – enough to pay for another forklift.
Nissan Forklift Productivity
One of the most significant expenses in your warehouse is your operator’s salary. To get the most for your money, make sure you get a lift truck that offers exceptional productivity, like Nissan Forklift’s Platinum II Series.
A function of both the truck’s performance characteristics and its ease of operation, productivity leaders must offer proof of more work performed in the same amount of time – which is exactly what MnCAR discovered with Nissan’s Platinum II® forklift.
Based on a 1,200 hour usage rate, Nissan Forklift’s results proved an annual productivity increase of nearly 850 to over 2,500 cycles per truck!

Nissan’s contribution to the creation of such a society includes a variety of goals designed to manage the environmental impact generated by their corporate activities, customer use of Nissan products, and the company’s use of resources to a level that is all within nature’s capacity to absorb.
In 2007, Nissan and NEC Corporation, and its subsidiary, NEC TOKIN, established a joint-venture company – Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC) – to focus on lithium-ion battery business opportunities. This synergy resulted in the world’s first lithium-ion battery powered forklift unveiled during the Logistech Show held in September 2008. Nissan continues to work to bring innovative and more environmental friendly products to market.
With the creation of the Nissan Green Program 2010 – their medium-term environmental action plan – several specific targets were established and they continue to steadily move forward in achieving the Program’s goals.
