Equipment Depot of Cincinnati Among the top Hawker Dealers in the Country
HAWKER Battery, the largest brand of industrial lead-acid batteries in the world, has announced Equipment Depot of Cincinnati as a “Dealer of Excellence” program winner for 2013.

The “Dealer of Excellence” program recognizes those dealers who have achieved outstanding results in the areas of sales, service and financial stability. These three areas of business are evaluated and contain certain criteria to which point values are assigned.

Dealers meeting the program requirements receive points based on their level of achievement in each area. The point value for each criterion is based on its relationship to achieving business excellence and furthering the mutual business interests of Hawker and the dealership.

“There are a lot of criteria to meet in order to receive this special recognition from HAWKER,” stated Ken Michel, power systems specialist for Equipment Depot of Cincinnati. “It symbolizes a well deserved ‘pat on the back’ for the dealer teams that meet and exceed the expectations of the HAWKER brand.”

With more than 75 Hawker dealers providing sales and service across North America, Equipment Depot of Cincinnati stands at the top among the best of the best.

Equipment Depot’s Cincinnati branch began operations in the Cincinnati area in 1960 as Portman Equipment Company. Pon North America acquired Portman in 2005 which later became known as Equipment Depot of Ohio in 2008.

Congratulations to Equipment Depot of Cincinnati on your selection as HAWKER “Dealer of Excellence” program winner for 2013!

New Reach Trucks Released by Linde05/15/13
New Reach Trucks Released by Linde
Linde Material Handling has launched a new generation of Linde reach trucks, which encompasses models R14 - R20 for a load range of 2,800 to 4,000 pounds. The compact, maneuverable new design provides a more productive flow of goods into the warehouse. Linde’s new and improved technical solutions make the trucks more comfortable, more powerful, safer and easier to service. The considerably wider range of models for mast/chassis/battery combinations and the optional features allow customer-specific solutions to be derived from series production.

• Stable and safe

Reach trucks represent the premium class when it comes to warehouse technology. These trucks are primarily used as back-up at lower order picking levels and for high-rack storage. The trucks can now manage a lift height of 42 feet, ensuring that additional pallet storage locations can be reached. The technology behind this feature is a new lift mast concept with stronger profiles that reinforce the mast and enable a reduction in mast deflection in combination with a residual load capacity that has been increased by up to 20%.

• Comfort of the highest standard

Linde focused on improving truck ergonomics during the development of these new reach trucks. The resulting improvements take the pressure off drivers and help to protect their health. Drivers can adjust the unit, which includes the steering wheel, display, joysticks and armrest, to suit their body dimensions, using the highly adjustable operating console. Vibrations caused by uneven road surfaces, bumps or poor floor coverings are shielded from the operator by air-sprung seats, which also allow the seat height to be adjusted within a range of five inches.

• Storing and removing materials

Handling materials is easier when the operator has a better view of the fork arms and the load. With an unobstructed upward view and no distracting load backrest, the new Linde reach trucks can be kitted out with an optional, end-to-end, panoramic toughened glass roof, which also protects the driver from falling objects.

Additional safety features also include the side hoop guard at shoulder height, the optional Linde BlueSpot with LED technology to warn the operator about pedestrians or truck drivers at confusing intersections, and the standard four-wheel braking system including holding brake for very short braking distances in scenarios where the operator needs to stop the truck abruptly.
