New Mitsubishi Model Series Combines Modern Design With Performance06/02/14
New Mitsubishi Model Series Combines Modern Design With Performance
Key benefits of the new 36-volt pantograph reach truck models include:

Exceptional Performance
The ESR20/23N2 and EDR18N2 series of pantograph reach trucks combines advanced AC motor technology that optimizes performance while minimizing energy consumption. The hydraulic system delivers the fastest published lift speed in the industry (up to 160 ft. per minute). This results in a more efficient pick-up and placement of loads for increased productivity.

Excellent Load Handling
This series provides excellent load handling at high lift heights - reaching up to 450 inches. In addition, an exclusive suspended articulating axle evenly balances load weight for improved stability during cornering and when working at high lift heights, which allows the operator to smoothly and confidently move materials.

Enhanced Operator Ergonomics
The ESR20/23N2 and EDR18N2 series is designed with a spacious operator compartment for increased comfort and productivity. The reach truck's intuitive multifunction control handle, exclusive to this model series, maximizes operator performance by allowing travel and hydraulic functions to be easily controlled simultaneously. This series features one of the smoothest, quiet rides in the industry, improving the overall driving experience in addition to reducing operator fatigue.

Added Awareness
The operator display panel features key information in one easy-to-access location. These features help operators remain informed and in control while moving loads through the facility. Productivity-enhancing options, such as an optional fork-mounted camera, lift height indicator and tilt position assist, help to improve operator performance in many applications.

Equipment Depot Purchases Pink Forklifts to Support CLARK’s “Raising Hope” Program11/12/13
Equipment Depot Purchases Pink Forklifts to Support CLARK’s “Raising Hope” Program
Equipment Depot has joined forces with forklift manufacturer CLARK Material Handling by purchasing four “pink ribbon” CLARK forklifts. The four-wheel pneumatic-tired forklifts are painted pink to demonstrate support for the fight against breast cancer and include a large “Raising Hope” message on the side of each machine.

“Equipment Depot is proud to support CLARK’s efforts in the fight for a cure,” says David O. Turner, president and CEO of Houston-based Equipment Depot. “It is a great honor to be recognized by CLARK as one of the few 2013 “Raising Hope” Champion Dealers. The recognition plaques we received will hang in the branches to serve as a reminder to customers and employees that Equipment Depot supports the fight for a cure.”

Equipment Depot locations that ordered the pink ribbon forklifts are located in Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and Mechanicsburg, PA. They began receiving their forklifts this week. The pink ribbon forklifts are designated to enter Equipment Depot’s rental fleet but will be available for purchase by customers who want to demonstrate their support for breast cancer research.

"Initially, the plan was to rent the pink ribbon forklift out to selected customers," says Tom McLaughlin, general manager for Equipment Depot of Philadelphia. "However, we recently moved into a large regional facility in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. We are proudly displaying the forklift on our show room floor during our grand opening and it will remain on display for customers that visit our new branch."

Equipment Depot was one of 27 dealers that accepted the challenge, offered by CLARK Material Handling Co. of Lexington, Kentucky, to purchase the special “Raising Hope” forklifts to show support for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In all, 42 pink forklifts were purchased through the program to support breast cancer research.

"Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month is October, the pink forklifts will serve as a reminder year-round of Equipment Depot’s continued support for research for those who are fighting, surviving or have lost the battle against breast cancer," says Todd Jordan, director of rental fleet for Equipment Depot. “In addition to ordering the pink ribbon forklifts, Equipment Depot made a generous donation to the Susan G Komen foundation at the time of purchase to aid in the research to eliminate breast cancer.”

Contributions offered by dealers were matched by a donation by CLARK and the dealers were recognized by CLARK as 2013 “Raising Hope” Champions. CLARK presented the donations at this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event held in Lexington, on October 5, 2013. This was the 7th consecutive year CLARK has participated in the Race for the Cure event. CLARK and its dealer network have successfully raised over $230,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

"These pink ribbon machines are absolutely beautiful and say a lot about Equipment Depot as a company," says Derrell Finch, sales manager for Equipment Depot of Houston. "We are proud to be associated with a manufacturer like CLARK that supports the Susan G Komen foundation and the research that is being done to help save lives."

Jungheinrich Recognized as a “Top Green Provider”10/31/13
Jungheinrich Recognized as a “Top Green Provider”
Jungheinrich forklift has been recognized as a “Top Green Provider” by Food Logistics Magazine according to Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich lift trucks and narrow aisle products in the United States, Canada and Mexico, announced today that Jungheinrich has been named as a ‘Top Green Provider’ by Food Logistics magazine. Jungheinrich received this recognition for its commitment to developing energy-efficient warehouse products and solutions for the grocery and foodservice industries.

“We’re honored to have Jungheinrich recognized as a ‘Top Green Provider’ in the food and beverage industry,” said Perry Ardito, general manager, warehouse products at MCFA. “The Jungheinrich brand is well-known for its development of energy-efficient warehouse products – with most Jungheinrich lift trucks operating up to two shifts on a single battery charge. This means a more productive work day for our customers in addition to lower energy consumption and a cleaner working environment.”

Using proprietary 3-phase AC technology, Jungheinrich's AC-powered electric lift trucks reclaim otherwise wasted mechanical energy from braking and load lowering, and instead, convert it back to electrical energy that feeds back to the battery. Jungheinrich lift trucks also have a longer run time from a single battery charge, reducing hydrogen gas emissions for a cleaner working environment.

Food Logistics’ ‘Top Green Providers’ recognition is an annual award highlighting companies whose products, services or exemplary leadership enhance sustainability in the food and beverage supply chain.

The New Hy-Brid HB-1230 Scissor Lift Can Handle the Job10/16/13
The New Hy-Brid HB-1230 Scissor Lift Can Handle the Job
Custom Equipment Lifts’ new Hy-Brid HB-1230 compact scissor lift is quick, agile and light on the ground, yet strong enough to tackle tough jobs and durable with its durability.

“Hy-Brid lifts are tough, rugged, general-use lifts, not just niche tools,” says Steve Kissinger, founder and president of Custom Equipment. “As evidence there are tons of Hy-Brid lifts that are still going strong in rental fleets across the country after nine years of steady work.”

Since premiering a prototype HB-1230 last February, Custom Equipment has field tested machines, fine-tuned details and is now beginning full production.

“The Hy-Brid HB-1230 scissor lift has about the same compact footprint as a 12-ft. mast lift, but it weighs 100 to 300 pounds less than all but one of them,” says Justin Kissinger, Custom Equipment’s marketing director. “Also, the HB-1230 offers higher capacity, a longer working platform, the ability to support two people, and many other advantages.”

The two electric motors that drive the rear wheels provide plenty of power while weighing significantly less than a hydraulic travel system. The 12-in. diameter rear wheels roll easily over cracks and obstacles, and their rubber faces deliver excellent traction and minimize impact on flooring.

The two pairs of 8-in. diameter front (steering) wheels can swivel 360° and the rear wheels can counter-rotate, enabling zero-degree turning radius capability.

The single, fully-proportional, orbital joystick control lever responds quickly and accurately for precise operation. To steer, the operator simply moves the control lever in the direction he or she wants to go. The farther the lever is moved, the faster the lift travels. The deadman switch is built into the joystick and a selector switch on the control box lets the same joystick operate travel or platform operation.

Features Include:
-The HB-1230 uses the same proven scissor design as other Hy-Brid lifts, including Teflon bushings that work a lifetime without maintenance.

-A battery-powered hydraulic pump and single cylinder extend the stack to raise the platform. The platform can rise from stowed to full height in just 19 seconds and descend from full height to stowed position in 12 seconds. Because platform elevation is the machine’s only hydraulic function, the pump and reservoir are smaller and lighter than on lifts which also travel on hydraulic power.

-The HB-1230 runs on two maintenance-free 12 volt AGM deep-cycle batteries, a system that costs and weighs less than using four 6 volt batteries. Justin Kissinger says that the maintenance-free AGM batteries also cost less in the long run than using four six volt batteries by eliminating service calls and premature replacement caused by poor maintenance.

Linde BlueSpot now Available in Red!
Providing Silent Safety for Your Employees

Whenever there is a possibility that forklifts and pedestrians may meet, special safety precautions are necessary in order to prevent accidents.

The BlueSpot consists of two energy-efficient, very bright and long-lasting LED lights attached to the top of the driver's protective roof frame, which each project a large blue spot onto the floor a few yards ahead in the direction of travel (forwards or backwards). This acts as a warning to pedestrians who may be approaching. The spot can be lit up constantly or can flash in order to attract attention.

To order your Blue or RedSpot safety light, contact your local Equipment Depot parts representative.
